1. Who can leave a review
A customer with a Cobbtree account may leave a review for a location after an eligible appointment at that location, using the in-product review flow. We may also display ratings imported as historical records, or Google reviews a business has chosen to sync, where those features are enabled. Those sources are not the same as a Cobbtree verified visit.
2. Verified visits
A Cobbtree verified visit means our records show an eligible appointment linked to that review. It is not a guarantee that every sentence is accurate. Imported historical reviews are stored with verified visit switched off.
3. Content rules
Reviews must reflect a genuine experience. Do not include:
- hate, harassment, threats or abuse;
- unlawful content, including defamatory falsehoods you know to be false;
- other people's personal information, medical details or photos without authority;
- advertising or spam.
Conflicts of interest must not be hidden. Employees, owners and close family should not review their own business.
4. Fake and incentivised reviews
Under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, it is a banned practice to submit, commission or publish fake reviews, or to conceal that a review was incentivised, and traders who publish consumer reviews must take reasonable and proportionate steps to prevent and remove such content. Those rules commenced on 6 April 2025.
You must not buy reviews, post reviews for visits that did not happen, or pressure staff to write positive reviews. Offering a lawful, clearly disclosed incentive is different from hiding an incentive. When in doubt, do not incentivise.
5. Moderation and reporting
We may remove or decline to publish a review that we reasonably believe breaks this policy or the law. Report a review to [email protected]. We may ask for information. Repeated manipulation can lead to suspension. We do not promise to adjudicate every dispute about whether a haircut was good.
6. Business responses
A business may reply where the product allows. Replies must not include other clients' personal data, threaten reviewers, or offer a hidden incentive to change a rating. Related: Customer Terms, Business Terms.
