Terms of Use

By accessing Cobbtree you agree to these Terms of Use. If you create an account, the wording on the sign-up screen tells you which other documents also apply. Optional marketing messages are never bundled into this agreement. You can decline marketing and still use Cobbtree.

If you use Cobbtree as a staff member or other authorised user of a business, you confirm that the business has allowed you to do so.

Cobbtree is a product of COZQ Limited, a company registered in England and Wales. Company number 16592649. VAT number 519163195. ICO registration ZC022310. Registered office: 20 Wenlock Road, London, England, N1 7GU.

Cobbtree is software and a consumer-facing booking surface. We are not the salon, barber, clinic or retailer that provides the appointment, treatment or product, except where we sell our own software subscription, domain order or hardware to a business.

You must be at least 18 to create a Cobbtree customer or business account in your own name. A parent or guardian may book for a younger person with a participating business. We do not knowingly create consumer accounts for children under 13.

Give accurate details and keep them current. Do not create an account for someone else without authority. Do not impersonate a business, professional or another individual.

Keep passwords, one-time codes and device PINs confidential. Use unique credentials. If Cobbtree offers two-factor or PIN locks, use them where you can. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you think an account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity carried out with your credentials unless we failed to take reasonable care.

Businesses must remove staff access when a person leaves. Sharing an owner login is not permitted.

You may use Cobbtree only for lawful personal or business purposes that the product is designed to support: discovering businesses, booking, paying where offered, managing a subscribed business, and related account activity.

You must not:

• probe, scan or attack Cobbtree, or attempt to bypass security;
• introduce malware, or overload the service in a way that harms other users;
• scrape, harvest or extract data by automated means except as allowed by a documented Cobbtree API and these terms, or by a mandatory legal exception;
• reverse engineer Cobbtree except where the law says you may;
• resell, sublicense or white-label Cobbtree without our written consent;
• use Cobbtree to send unlawful marketing, spam or deceptive content;
• submit fake reviews, or manipulate ratings;
• use Cobbtree for fraud, unauthorised card activity or money laundering;
• copy Cobbtree branding, software or documentation to build a competing service.

COZQ Limited owns Cobbtree software, APIs, design, branding, documentation and the way the platform works. You receive a limited, revocable licence to use Cobbtree while your account (and, for businesses, your subscription) remains in good standing. That licence is not a transfer of ownership.

Content you upload (including logos, photos, descriptions and reviews) stays yours or the relevant owner's. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, store, resize, cache, display and transmit that content so we can operate Cobbtree, including marketplace listings, business websites we host, and the apps. We do not claim ownership of your content.

You confirm you have the rights and any needed consent to upload content, including photographs of staff, customers or premises. Do not upload images of children unless you have appropriate authority. See the Review Policy for review content.

Cobbtree links to independent businesses and to providers such as Stripe, app stores, maps and optional integrations a business connects. Those parties have their own terms. We do not control them and we do not promise they will remain available or compatible. This does not limit our responsibility for Cobbtree's own failures.

We aim to keep Cobbtree available. We do not promise uninterrupted access. We may suspend the service for maintenance, security or legal reasons, and we may change features. Experimental or beta features may be withdrawn. We will not pretend a feature exists if it does not.

If you download a Cobbtree app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, the store's terms also apply to the download. Those stores are not a party to your contract with us for the Cobbtree service. Some device features (including certain tap-to-pay functions) depend on Apple, Google or Stripe enabling them on your device and region. We do not promise every hardware feature on every phone.

We may restrict, suspend or close an account where we reasonably believe there is non-payment, fraud, security risk, illegal activity, abuse, review manipulation, chargeback abuse, intellectual-property infringement, a serious data-protection breach, or a legal or regulatory requirement. Restriction is a temporary limit. Suspension is a fuller freeze. Termination ends the account relationship.

You may stop using Cobbtree at any time. Customer account deletion is described in the Privacy Notice. Business termination is described in the Business Terms.

Nothing in these Terms of Use excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that UK law does not allow us to exclude. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and related law remain.

These Terms of Use are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except that a UK consumer may also bring a claim in the courts of their home part of the UK where the law allows.

We may update these Terms of Use. The effective date and version appear at the top of this page. If a change is material we may ask you to accept the new version before continuing with an account. The current documents always live in the Legal Centre.
